About Dr. Richard C. Robertson, Jr., MD

 

Richard C. Robertson, Jr., MD, is double board certified in anesthesiology and interventional pain management. He is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Robertson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a medical degree from the University of Mississippi.

During medical school, Dr. Robertson served as a board member of the Mississippi State Medical Association and was chosen to receive both the Virginia Stansel Tolbert Award and the Carl Gustav Evers Award for outstanding leadership. Dr. Robertson then completed his residency in anesthesiology at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. While at Ochsner, he was elected and served as the President of the Resident Fellows Association. He was also the recipient of a Society for Education in Anesthesia Health Volunteers Overseas Scholarship. He chose to further specialize his training by completing an ACGME-accredited fellowship in interventional pain management at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Dr. Robertson is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the Louisiana Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesiologists, and North American Neuromodulation Society.

Philosophy of Care
As an interventional pain management specialist, Dr. Robertson’s goals is to reduce, manage, and alleviate acute and chronic pain in order to improve function, quality of life, and one’s ability to perform activities of daily living. Dr. Robertson uses a multi-modal approach utilizing a combination of physical therapy, home exercise, medication, and minimally invasive-pathology directed outpatient interventions. Dr. Robertson’s ultimate goal is to allow patients to return to their productive everyday life as quickly as possible without reliance on medications.
