We offer both orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation as part of our treatment options.
What is Orthopedic Surgery?
It is a surgery that treats musculoskeletal disorders.
Orthopedic Surgery, or orthopedics, is surgery that focuses on conditions that involve the musculoskeletal system. Both surgical and nonsurgical treatments are used to treat bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. The types of conditions that are most often treated include arthritis, cerebral palsy, club foot, congenital disorders, degenerative diseases, infections, musculoskeletal trauma, scoliosis, sports injuries and tumors.
What is Orthopedic Rehabilitation?
Orthopedic Rehabilitation, commonly referred to as rehab, is a treatment programed designed by an orthopedic doctor to help people recover from musculoskeletal injuries, diseases, or surgeries. The treatment is designed to improve affected areas such as muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, and tendons. The plan is designed to restore motion, function, strength and flexibility in the body area that requires rehabilitation. The goal is to reduce symptoms and improve the quality of life for the patient while addressing the orthopedic issue.
Orthopedic rehabilitation may be recommended for the following common conditions:
- Hip Replacement
- Knee Replacement
- Lower Back Injuries
- Shoulder Pain
- Ankle Rehab
- Wrist Pain
